We had a wonderful, simple birthday for you. I'm afraid your Mommy and Daddy wimped out, just the tiniest bit. We haven't had a party yet. But we will...we think. But your day was perfect. Both of us were home for the weekend. The morning started off simple. Farmers' Market. The playground. A walk with the dogs. During your nap the house got decorated with streamers and balloons. I made your cake. Not as fancy as what Grandma made you last year. This was just a simple sheet cake with frosting and sprinkles. But hey! It was all homemade!

I think the biggest hit was the balloons from the dollar store. Even your present didn't garner as much excitement. But you sure knew how to unwrap it! That must be in the kid gene, along with refusing all new foods but if it looks remotely like a cookie it's in.

We sang Happy Birthday, played with your new t-ball set, and then out to play at Fort Nisqually and the zoo. You are thinking very hard about your present here. We can tell because your tongue is sticking out.

Mommy is loving 2 years old. You are playful and fun, (mostly) cooperative, learning tons of new games, can mimic when you want to, and you are pretty good at playing independently. You give lots of hugs and kisses. You go down for naps and bed like a dream, and you still take 2-3 hour naps. Mommy really loves that. Everyday you want to go to the zoo. It's one of the few words that you say on a regular basis. You still have lots of those baby words that you understand perfectly, but we don't have a clue. Sorry about that.

It's all just so fast. I hope I can keep up with you, my wonderful little boy. You are my life and my world, my joy and my greatest blessing. We love you so much.
Love
Mommy

What a precious boy. Sounds like he had a perfect birthday. Your Mimi Cindy loves you Patrick!
You write the sweetest letters to Patrick. When he's older, he will appreciate it (but most likely be embarassed by it.) :-)
Happy Birthday, Patrick. We are so glad you are surrounded by so much love. You won't understand how lucky you are until you're all grown up. For now, keep giving those hugs and kisses. Keep exploring your world with delight. How extraordinarily wonderful life is. Many hugs, AJ
