Kevin has Patrick at the grocery story with him. He's getting me eggs, because I want to make cookies again. Peanut Butter Blossoms. These were my Dad's favorite cookies (have I said that already?) and they are soon becoming my husband's. We can whip some out after I put Patrick to bed.
We've started attending church, after talking about it for years. It always sounded like a nice idea, but we never knew where to start, and getting out of pajamas in time on a Sunday morning was a hard bargain. But throw a baby into the mix and "sleeping in" develops new definitions. For example, Patrick woke up for the final time at 7:22am this morning. We thought this was Awesome. But friends recommended their church. It's Lutheran, a nice compromise between Catholic (him) and I-didn't-grow-up-with-church-but-it-needs-to-be-interesting (me). Turns out some other friends attend as well! And we are digging it, so far. They have a nice baby room where I can escape with Patrick if he's not interested in playing quietly like that sweet baby girl in the row in front of us. I'm hoping it will work out. I have no idea what it means to be a "member," and I'm not interested in taking a class to become an "official" Lutheran.
Kevin is still looking for a job, and he's been working quite hard at it. Lots of interesting possibilities. So hard, the waiting. Luckily I'm able to pick up a bit extra at work, even though it makes for a tired Mommy. Kevin's been so wonderful about taking care of the house, and he still does 90% of the cooking. We're making it work, and we are in a much better space for this an a couple years ago. The secret? Talking, lots of talking. Thank goodness you can't shut either one of us up easily.

Mom came to visit this weekend. She needed to see all Patrick's new tricks. He's a champ at rolling over, and had recently learned to prop himself up on hands and knees. This boy wants to move so badly! It's a blast to watch him figure it out. In the meantime, he can pull his socks off and eat his feet.
The house is looking pretty spiffy. I love it at the same time I fuss about how much money we are spending. But we put some lights up outside, the tree looks great, and I bought a gigantic wreath from Costco for above the couch. The stockings are hung up high, just in case the puppies feel destructive.
Oh, and I cut my hair.
