Kevin and I were at Lowes. Not our "church" of choice, but it will do occasionally. They also happen to have the overpriced bathroom mirror we like (see Mom, you won't have to do your hair in our messy master bath anymore!) We were checking it out...again...when Kevin suggested taking Patrick to the Halloween decorations.
"He really liked the mummy the last time."
So we go to the mummy. Patrick is transfixed. The rolling eyes. The moaning. Just like Daddy before his coffee.
But, alas, we must pay for our goods and leave the store. Kevin takes the kid, I take the check-0ut.
Patrick is screaming, a full blown fit. Quite impressive. He's reaching back, towards me (I think).
I can still hear him as I walk to the car several minutes later. "Mommy's coming!" I call.
"Oh, he did this the last time we were here. He didn't like it when I took him away from the mummy," Kevin explains.
"You showed him the mummy before and he screamed his head off, like this?" I clarify. "Then why did we do this again?"
Silence.
