The Fair

Kevin and I hit the Puyallup Fair with Patrick today. Because from 10-12, it was free admission. Not knowing how long a toddler would last, I didn't want to be out twenty bucks. The weather cooperated with beautiful sunshine. We always have pretty Septembers here, just in time for back-to-school.

We over played our hand by about 15 minutes. It doesn't help that the last two days have been murder on his sleep schedule. The boy is all out of wack. Despite sleeping until 6ish, he still needs two naps during the day. And he hasn't been getting them. Plus, he wasn't feeling great last night (I think teething) and after multiple wake-ups between 2 and 4am, I finally drug him into bed with us. He slept some, and nursed alot. With Kevin's family in town Saturday, I need to figure out how to hang with the grandparents and still get some naps in. Yikes.

But the Fair was fun. We skipped the stroller and had Patrick in the backpack. Naturally, we only took one picture. He liked the sheep, cows, and pigs. The horses were also a big hit. My hopes were high by the presense of a "nursing station," but quickly shattered when I realized they met "here is one stall without a toliet that we'll put a chair in and call it a station." A gigantic fair, and only one mom could nurse her baby in privacy at a time. Bitches. So I did my usual, nurse in the middle of everything and call it good.

As he gets bigger, Kevin can take him on all the rides and we can check out more stuff. In the meantime, I need to remember that, sleep or no sleep, these kiddos can only handle so much stimulation before they lose it.

Betime tonight? 6:55pm. To bad I'm exhausted, I could get a lot done.

A 7 pm bedtime sounds good to me! You two are great for getting him out to the fair (and Rod would be proud that you did it "fareless")!

Brave brave women. It's been years since I've braved the fair.
