Notes on my birthday

It was a very nice birthday. I did have to work for a few hours, but it was at time-and-a-half! After an easy 5 hours at work (including one 17 year old who came in because her LABIA were swollen. One simple guess how that happened) I went over to Lena's house for an impromptu birthday party. Alicia, Raissa, and the accompanying ankle-biters were present. We had yummy birthday cake and gossiped until Shaun came home. The only bummer part of my evening was being alone due to Kevin's work schedule. But I joined him for dinner at the theater. Later that night Dana, Tim, and Grace stopped by to bring me a bunch of birthday treats. The white-chocolate lemon truffle candy bar was especially good. Grace spent her time handing me all my CD's, one at a time. She was generously rewarded with applause and praise at every handoff.

I've spend the following two days doing very little. I've bummer around Borders. I've walked the dogs. I've watched Connie & Carla (the newer Nia Vardalos movie). I love this movie with a deep passion, and why I haven't purchased it yet is a travisty of nature. Drag Queens, Show Tunes, and David Duchovney. Can't go wrong. I've been a good little worker and marking off my yearly checklist of hospital requirements. Boring, but nice to have them done.

I think I'll make some soup, take a nap, go to the library, clean the bathroom, and write some thank you notes. The dogs are dozing on the bed. It's a very good day.
