Hello Hello! Sorry to be MIA. Lazy, tired, and grumpy have rather taken over the past few weeks.
The deadlines have been met. Kevin's final show of the season, Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, opened with a great first night. They are now on their second weekend and it's worth seeing, although not with your small children. It's fun and sexy, but quite different from the movie. Mom said she remembers seeing it in the theater with my Aunt Jean. The projector broke down in the middle of it, so they sat through the whole thing twice, crying at all the same spots.
We also made it to our Childbirth Education Class at The Birthing Inn. We both got quite a bit out of it. I thought it would be more lecture-oriented, and Kevin dreaded that it would be all-about-mom, all-the-time, with no focus on dads other than "here's your chores in labor." But we had some great conversations with the group, got the chance to discuss what we each wanted out of our birth, and really connected with each other in the process.
The very next day, I thought, "I'm ready to have this baby."
So over the past week, I've been getting "ready." Patrick's room is coming together. It looks really sweet without being over the top. But more the the decor, it's ORGANIZED! Thanks to some lovely gift certificates from co-workers, I picked up a lamp, sheets, and a clock radio for the room. Washed loads of stuff. And thanks to Valerie's hot tip, we found our yuppie stroller at Costco for $70 less than everywhere else. The diaper service made it's first drop-off. And I'm thoroughly sick of spending money. I keep hearing that it doesn't improve all that much.
Can I say again how grateful I am for such generosity and overwhelming kindness? Thank you so much, everybody, for all your good wishes.
Today I am officially 39 weeks. I don't know how much longer I'll last at work, it's a long day even with my co-workers cutting me quite a bit of slack and letting me sit down a lot. It makes up for their laughing at me when I waddle past.

Yeah, a little update! I know I saw you on Wednesday, but I've been wondering what you are up to ... but I remember all too well that cranky last week before baby arrives, so I didn't want bug you. :) But feel free to call if you need to complain for a little bit.
The nursery looked great a few weeks ago, so I can only imagine it looks stunning now.
Hang in there, Patrick will be here soon enough and then you have all sorts of other fun things to marvel about. Including the joy of finally being able to see your feet again. :)
Love ya!
Oh forgot, my mom is thinking of you and wish you the best of luck.
Whew! Was wondering if little Patrick had already made his little debut! Sending good vibes for as little pain to mommy as possible! Love you guys. :)
Oh Jenny! I thought this was it for you! I am very happy you got your child birthing classes taken care of and know that all is well! Can't wait to see some pics of the room and hopfully in a couple days - see little Patrick! Hugs and thoughts from Texas!
