World's Best Hubby!

Kevin scored major, Major points this Friday. It all started several weeks ago.

"I have an idea for you. I know we don't normally do anything for Valentine's Day, and I don't expect you to do anything, but I'm going to do something, OK? And don't bitch about the cost."

OK, then.

Several days later.

"Save Friday, that's when we're doing stuff."

Friday comes. I'm quite tickled, after getting over my grumpiness at surprises. I usually don't do surprises well. I prefer to control every step of every event. (Stop laughing, girlfriends)

We get into the car, and Patrick helpfully falls asleep for the next two hours. First, we stop by a pretty house across the street from St. Patrick's Church. "What's this?" I ask. "Look at the plaque." I look. Bing Crosby lived here! I love me some Bing! I take pictures.

Next, we call Paddy Coynes and order us some takeout. We park the car and eat it close to the waterfront, listening to PotterCast on my Sansa, pausing it to comment and argue Harry Potter factoids.

Kevin looks at his watch. Since he says it's on the way, we drive by the house and drop of trash. Halfway up the street, Kevin pulls over. "Can you get me something out of the car? It's under the dog blanket." I get out of the car. I pull up the blanket. It's my flip-flops.

The flip-flops I wear to get a PEDICURE!

Yeeeeee! We drive to Fred Meyer's, where a cute little Asian nail place is. I'm so excited!

"Damnit," Kevin says, looking at said watch again."I almost forgot, but we have time. We'll be right back." Sure! I'm happy! I'm getting a pedicure!

We drive away. We drive to Foxfire! "I'm a better husband then that! You are getting a Spa Pedicure."

Yeeeee!

Kevin saw a sign the last time we got haircuts. Free manicure with spa pedicure. He thought I'd like it. He scheduled it. He remembered the flip-flops. He gave me 2.5 hours of total privacy.

He was appropriately thanked, ahem.
