Done

I PASSED!

Such a relief to have that over and done with. Talk about a slacker, I've been putting it off for almost three years. My first excuse is my only decent one. I was going to do it after Kevin and I returned from our vacation in Illinois, visiting Dad and company. As Dad's funeral was what we did after we returned from vacation in Illinois, I just wasn't in the mood to study.

Then I was simply a lazy slack ass.

I owe my new nursing buddy, Jenny (yep, another one AND her middle name's Lynn), credit for kicking my ass. "I have to do my certification test! We should study together!" And I jumped in, printed out the forms, and had the boss-lady sign them that very day.

But there is really only one true reason why I finally took the test.

More money.

About $1200 a year more money. Because really, why go through all that hassle.

The test center was in Bellvue, meaning I left the house super early because I was going to hit every busy freeway in AM rush hour in a part of town I know nothing about. I arrived an hour early, drank my latte in the car and crammed last minute. The questions were random, dealing with situations that are quite familiar to obstetric nursing but twisting them in a way that made NO PRACTICAL SENSE. But it doesn't matter, because I PASSED and I'm DONE.

I treated myself to Indian food for lunch, bummer around the bookstore, played with the dogs, took a nap, bought a bottle of wine at Trader Joe's, admired the flowers from my husband, and read one of my multiple library books. My goal is to do jack shit the rest of the weekend.

Except practice my music. Damn.
