Jet Setters

Kevin and I had a lovely date at The Melting Pot's happy hour. Two cheese fondue and some nice wine. For super cheap! Then Lena, being an absolute STAR, took care of me Wednesday night. She understands the need for a girls' night out. After my charming visit to our personal ER, Lena had a plan. Kevin "games" on Wednesdays. Therefore, I needed company next Wednesday and she was IT. Darling husband was informed that he, lucky man, would have the house ALL TO HIMSELF Wednesday night....after he put the 3 year old and 16 month old to bed. She and I were going out.

So we spent a fine time at From The Bayou in Parkland. Wednesday is half-price wine. So we shared a nice bottle of Bonny Doon Cardinal zinfandel. Then we took up our charming table for nearly three hours, enjoying that bottle. Afterwards, needing just a tad more time between the bottle and the driving, had some coffee at NPCC, our old coffee shop near PLU. It was a FINE TIME, and in the grand tradition of girls' night, no subject was sacred. None. Not even that.

Today I would have appreciated doing jack shit. But we are leaving tonight for a trip, and there is too much to be done. I cannot leave a dirty house before a trip, because then I'll just be cleaning it when I get back. I'd rather do the cleaning first. So it's cleaning and packing and general straightening. It's taken coffee, a nap, and some diet black cherry vanilla coke to get through this day. And we are terrible over-packers. This is a weekend trip, and we are taking the very same suitcases that got us through two weeks overseas. I think Kevin is bringing the same amount of shoes. But all is well when I think of our darling first class seats, thanks to frequent flier miles! There will be no sleeping on our early flight, because I want to enjoy every second.

Thanks again for being so wonderful to us during this past week. It's been so appreciated, and we just feel surrounded by love. Thank you.

It was an absolutely wonderful evening. I enjoyed every second of it and as a topper the radio played Timmy's "My next 30 years" on the way home. Perfection blaring from the speakers.

Love you!

Bonny Doon? As in the maker of the wine? We went to their tasting room when we went on our wine trip...how funny...what a small world! Their tasting room on the center coast is closing though...bummer.

Love you dear. I hope you and Kevin have a fantastic time on a well-deserved vacation. :)
