A Fine Time, part one

We went to a party.

We stayed out past midnight.

One of us was the designated driver, and it was not my husband.

One of us drank much and smoked a fine cee-gar, and it was not his wife.

Don called me Saturday afternoon. Kevin was at rehearsal. "Hey, we're having a pre-funk for a Saint Paddy's Party next month! I'm making Irish Stew. You guys should come over!" Don and his lovely wife, Cindy, are part of the college crowd. Somehow, with college friends, we always end up talking about our "Glory Days." And Glorious they were. Therefore, a fine time. And because PLU was a teeny school, there is always an interesting mix of inter-relationships in our college crowds. Don was my first college sweetheart. And I consider myself quite lucky that now he is one of my good friends. He and Cindy rent the CUTEST HOUSE EVER and share it with Emily and Ben, yet more PLU friends. I'm so jealous of their house. And their bathtub. Perfection.

The party was a great mix of PLU and Dead Gentlemen folks (check out Don's film company!) and everybody there was one of "Us" verses being one the "Them." Us being fun, charming, entertaining, and having a good time with little effort. Them being boring, difficult, and unable to socialize with anybody unfamiliar. Dinner was great, the drinks were abundant, the crowd was a riot, and I can't wait to go back for Saint Paddy's Day.

But only if Nathen will wear his penis sweats again. I swear, Hannah is a QUEEN.
