But on Sunday, Kevin and I had a bit of a shopping spree. My shopping has a familiar and predictable pattern. I hoard money, loath to spend a dollar and questioning every cent at the grocery store (I have been know to cry with the realization that I spent $0.59 more than necessary on canned goods). Then, in a fit of desire, I go crazy with an item I've been wishing for. Two days later, I look at our bank statement on-line, and panic. All our financial dreams and goals are destroyed because I bought two pumpkin candles at Bath and Body Works.
But it was a good bit of fun while the high lasted.
It started on Friday night, the opening preview of Dreamgirls at Tacoma Little Theatre. I dropped some dinner off for Kevin and recalled suddening that there would be free food at this party. So I should attend. But Kevin was snazzy, and I was cute but casual in trainers and a Gap t-shirt. Maybe I should change....
Then I remembered The Boots at Target. Kevin has been after me to get new boots. They are a challenge to find for big-calfed girls like myself. Most don't zip up. And I don't want to spend $100 on shoes that I'll rarely wear.
Pretty dang cute for $36.99, huh?The new shoes were a big hit with the husband. And thanks to Molly, I'm brave enough to wear them with black tights.
