It's Official

We've waited a long time to make this announcement.

We are having a BABY!

Kevin and I just returned from the 12 week ultrasound. This was my third one, and I'm almost completely reassured that I'm going to have a fine pregnancy.

They don't have the cool 3-D ultrasound machine yet (the one used at my 8 week appointment was the try-out), it was still amazing to see the changes in 4 weeks. We saw fingers and toes, stretching arms and legs, and LOTS of movement. Kevin says the baby will sleep like me, very actively. About 2 inches long from head to rump. The size continues to match up with my dates, and growth is right on track.

Our little parakeet is due around the end of June, giving me a summer vacation for the first time in 10 years.

It's been a stressful six weeks. As excited as we have been, it hasn't been "fun" due to all the worrying and hesitation. I'm hoping now to actually start enjoying being pregnant. My coworkers have realized that mine will not be a laid-back, I'm fine, go with the flow pregnancy. Oh well, maybe next time.

Kevin thinks it's a girl. Just to be onry, I'm guessing a boy. But for now, it's a parakeet

Parakeet: the offspring of a Parrothead.

And a proud grandma (or maybe it should be grammie) is thrilled too. So do I now say I am the proud grandma/grammie of two grandpuppy dogs and one grandparakeet????
