The last two days I've gotten to play at being CHARGE NURSE.

Most of us cringe in horror at the possibility. Many have avoided it for years *cough Elisa cough* despite being so much more experienced than I am. But on Thursday, at her going away (and we gave her a Tiffany Bracelet the lucky girl) party, one of my bosses said to me:

Jenny! You are going to start training for charge on Monday!

In retrospect, I commented yesterday, it would have been better to just throw it to me on Monday. Then I wouldn't have spent the last four nights waking up every two hours dreaming about work.

But it was an interesting experience. Monday, my first day, was insane. Just one of those busy, slammed days on the floor where you just never have enough people because all the city shows up to have a baby. Trial by fire. Tuesday was lovely. I told my boss, "I'm not running around like a chicken today. Am I forgetting something?"

Somebody else asked me what it was like being charge. I replied it felt like wearing my mommy's high heels.

But surprisingly, it was alright. Which is good, as they will keep making me do it.

If I could just sleep through the night and quite dreaming about the hospital, that would be a bonus.

So a big thanks to everybody who was so wonderful and worked so hard Monday and Tuesday. And that was EVERYBODY.

Didn't sleep to well last night, either. Maybe I'll go window shopping at Borders. Thank goodness for my allowance so I can buy a decaf latte :) After all three student loans, Freya's detal expenses, and random crap, we are squeezing by until Friday. But there is gas in the cars and food in the house. We should make it. Even with splurging and turning the heat up to a whomping 65 degrees. That's a high at the Chase-Myers household. Bring a sweater if you come to visit.

Mom was up last weekend for my choir concert, so sweet of her. We did some window shopping for Christmas and Birthdays. She took us out for dinner and lunch! Such a treat. I wanted to go to The Spaghetti Factory. When we arrived at 5:30 on Saturday night, about 50 people were waiting. Giving up without a fight, we had a lovely meal at Vin Grotto. We hit the Factory the next day for lunch.

Kevin was sugar pie to his wife on Sunday. It made up for being a sassy bitch on Saturday. I guess it was his turn to be grumpy. His husband-psychic powers were full power the last two nights. He fixed me just what I wanted for dinner! Without being asked. Pasta and pizza. Lovely.

Your concert was fabulous - the heat was fine (sitting next to the heater does help!) I didn't bring my long underwear but I probably will when it's really cold outside!!

I'm sure you were a fantastic charge nurse- with the extra money you can splurge and have 3 more lattes- decaf that is! YEAH!

Enjoy your window shopping and take a nap.
