It's Mommy's last week at home full-time with you. While I love my job, I'm going to miss you an awful lot during those 12 hours. But I really, really hope you are a great baby for your day-care lady. Take a bottle, sleep well, and be over all charming so she'll want to keep watching you! But we are off to a busy start this week. Daddy's show opens this Friday, so he's not around too much this week. We've got lots of plans to keep you entertained: playdates, library visits, cupcake runs.
But there are still times that Mommy looks at you and thinks, "Now what?"
It's nice to know that I'm not the only Mommy who finds my baby quite boring at times. Sorry sugarplum, but Mommy does not find the ceiling fan as fascinating as you do.
You thankfully have skills that Mommy finds very interesting. Toys grab your focus and don't let go, as you try to get them into your mouth. The mirror is full of faces that you love to look at. However, your favorite activity remains naked-kicking-my-legs-while-lying-on-the-floor. The naked part is especially important. Although you don't like tummy time very much, you can lift your head and shoulders up better and longer. Mommy suspects you will be an early crawler, making her work hard to childproof earlier than desired.
I love that you are starting to like books. We have a fantastic collection of board books, and Mommy is already getting you books from the library. Mommy's favorites are Good Dog, Carl and anything by Sandra Boyton. Jimmy Buffett has a children's book, but that must wait until you are older.
We are getting the hang of this Mommy-Son thing, you and I. Now I only have to remember to take pictures!
Love
Mommy
