Number of times I:
Cried before leaving my baby: 2
Kissed my baby goodbye: 10 minutes
Was welcomed back by my fabulous coworkers: lots!
Was asked about pictures of Patrick: lots!
Of pictures I actually brought to work: zero
Was given crap about not having pictures: more than lots
Called Nancy (the lovely daycare lady) about Patrick: zero (I assumed he was fine until otherwise notified)
Had a Krispy Kreme because Kevin brought them to work for me when he needed a hug after dropping Patrick off: 3
Overall, it went pretty good. I'm working with a great new nurse, teaching her Labor and Delivery. The day went by fast, I was able to pump, and it was great to see everybody again. There's just one avenue left of major stress in our lives, and it's a 'work in process'. I'll let you know...

Number of times I wanted to call you and find out how Patrick did at the baby sitters - lots

I'm sorry that it was so hard to leave him. Hopefully Patrick enjoyed being around the other kids and the other Nancy was more like another of his grandmas rather than a baby sitter. He is so adorable - how could anyone not just love him.
Jenny, I've been thinking about you this week as you learn to reintegrate your working self with your new mothering self. I'm sure you will handle it with as much grace and poise as time and energy will allow.
I love reading about your experiences of motherhood in your blog. Of course it always makes me think about what my own experiences of motherhood will be like some day which is pretty significant considering I don't normally think about kids at all! My prayers are with you and your family for many blessings and a peaceful resolution to whatever your "on remaining major stress" is.
I'm so proud of you for handling those first days back at work.
It's a transition and it takes time for everyone to adjust and you know you have our support for whatever problems you may want to share.
Hugs!!
