Hello Rick Steves. I think you are wonderful. I want to grab my carry-all out of the closet, pack lightly, and have you tour me all around Europe. I want to see all those wonderful museums, interesting street corners, and quaint cafes that you have found in your travels.
It started with my Aunt Jean killing me with jealousy. Seems like she and Uncle John are renting an apartment in LONDON. For TWO WEEKS. So being helpful like I am, I immediately sent her tons of emails with lots of advice about what to see, where to eat, what to miss, and various websites useful for making plans. I told her lots about Rick Steves. I didn't realize until our trip last spring that Rick is a local boy. Edmonds, Washington. He still considers himself a small-business owner and has refused loads of money making TV offers to stick with Public Television. Love it. Love him.
So then I'm in the library. And they have his newest travel DVD's in stock! So I check out EVERY SINGLE ONE. And I watch them over and over. I listen to them as I do chores and cook dinner. Kevin and I sigh over the British Isles and wish we could go back today. I currently have two DVD's in the house. Germany and Italy (for the second time). I've listened to several radio broadcasts (he has a radio show on NPR. Today they talked about music and travel) that are archieved on his website www.ricksteves.com
My interests come in intense waves. I want to know everything. I get books from the library. I spend hours on various websites. I watch TV programs. Then something else catches my eye and I'm off again. I wonder what will come next?
