Last Day in Dingle, and some catching up

Hello you lovelies! Sugarbear and I have returned home. I'm sorry for leaving everybody in the dark the last week, but we were in the middle of Irish countryside with nowhere to check email. Then we were having too much fun to deal with it. So I'll back-track a bit.

Last Day in Dingle:

I really like this town. It's small enough to be fun, tourist oriented enough to have amenities (like Irish coffees at the internet cafe), and the most BRILLIANT music in every pub. I wish we were here longer to check out more pubs. By the way, Guinness with Black Current is my new FAVORITE drink.

Our B&B is lovely, the bed is horrid uncomfortable. Can't beat the location, right in the middle of town, five minutes walk from anywhere worth going.

Started off the day at Oceanworld. Small, but a blast. The best was the touch tank. Like a petting zoo, with fish. More wonderful then in looks typed out. The first time we were there the fish were very active. It was me and a four year old girl. I was more excited, and this kid was pretty tickled. The fish poked their heads out of water like puppies wanting a scratch. Later, I was informed they are intrigued by the light, but no matter. It looked really cute. Rays and dogfish, all very funny. Because they are fish, and not dogs, they aren't looking to be petted, but they didn't seem to mind.

We hiked to the lighthouse and a folly along the bay, looked for the infamous dolphin, Fungi. Apparently this dolphin showed up 20 years ago and has never left, loves people and is always chasing boats. A tourist industry in itself, this dolphin. There are dogs everywhere in Ireland, and leash laws are much more relaxed, especially in small towns. Dogs just hang out, walk around, locals know who belongs to what so nobody gets too excited. Freaks me out.

Later we went to John Benny's for dinner and music. Drank whiskey! And we had our laundry done, so clean clothes for everybody! I know when Mary and Jerry were in Ireland, they were quite industrious and washed clothes in the sink. Unfortunately, Sugarbear and I are lazy.

Next, we are off to Tramore. Wish we could have stayed in Dingle and done more shopping :)

Kisses
Jenny
