new tricks

Sweetiebear taught Danica to "nose" today.

She drops the ball, we hold it and say "nose, Danica." She touches her nose gently to the ball, we throw it, and Danica is victorious against her brainless captors once more. We are well trained owners, indeed.

It was an easy trick to teach her, and neither one of our dogs is particularly good at tricks. But she does this all the time anyway, usually when we are not involved in constant puppy entertainment. So now she does it on command. Many training books recommend using doggish behaviors as the basis for tricks. Maybe I could elaborate on this at home.

Sweetiebear, go play mindless computer games for hours!
