A good weekend

The mothers were up this weekend.

It was for the ultrasound. Such is the strength of a grandparents love for a yet-born baby that they will get out of bed before 5am, drive 2.5 hours north through potential rush-hour traffic, in order to be at the midwives office by 9am. Just to see the pictures and guess which body part was visible.

Oh, it's his hand!

No, I think that's a foot....

Jerry, my father-in-law, was there as well. He took a few pictures (good because Kevin and I always forget our camera and I wonder if a baby will change this habit), and left soon afterwards in order to go back to work (poor man). Kevin and I took the mothers out to lunch at Babblin' Babs' Bistro. Kevin then headed off to work and us girls hit the paint store.

Nancy had a project in mind. We were going to paint Patrick's room (colors were the same no matter the gender). Off to church (Home Depot) and bought a paint color called "Sweet Rhapsody." It reminds me of a color that every man should grow up being intimately aware of.

It's the color of a Tiffany's box.

Nancy then kicked my ass for two days getting this project done. Mary was a champ, as she was probably unaware of Nancy's ambitious plans. But wearing an adorable outfit, my mother-in-law jumped right in to help move furniture and wield the vacuum.

Rather embarrassing to have both the mothers see how dirty our old office had become.

Friday night the mothers had a date to see The Seven Year Itch at Kevin's theater, Kevin had rehearsal, and I had final dress for the Brahams' concert Saturday. Mary stayed at Tim and Dana's house Friday night, and I'm sure she was much more comfortable on a real bed instead of our camping mattress.

Jerry drove back up the next day, and my in-laws spent a delightful day playing with their granddaughter. Nancy and I tackled the painting. Kevin smartly went to work. Then they all sweetly went to my choir concert Saturday night. Four people in the audience just for me. That was pretty nice. The concert went great, the Brahams was beautiful, and I had a difficult time standing throughout the seventy minute piece. It's so hot, and my pregnant self gets a bit dizzy. But I managed to make it sitting only a few times. But for my final concert in May, I think I'll need a stool to get through.

I definitely look pregnant now! Yeah!
