So what if the laundry isn't done?

I spent five hours with my girlfriends today. We just hung out at Alicia's house, ate her pizza and rice crispy treats (tasty!), talked about babies and husbands, and watched the children develop various social skills. Awesome day. Now I'm making my own treats for Kevin's opera rehearsal. I'm making "Better Than...Brownies," where it's up to you to decide what exactly they are better than. Kissing Antonio Banderas? Being serenaded by Tim McGraw? The options are endless.

Valentine's Day was standard at our house. Uneventful. This is a purposeful choice, as I have no patience for paying twice last month's price for flowers because other idiots will. Kevin and I each pick up a card on the way home from work. It's become almost traditional NEVER to buy it ahead of time. We might eat dinner together, if it's convenient. Yesterday Kevin didn't have gaming (if gaming had been on, I'd be eating alone), so he made pad thai. Then he played video games while I read on the futon and the dogs played. Quite a pleasant evening. I'd already gorged on chocolate at work. Couldn't help it, the stuff was EVERYWHERE! Thank goodness Kevin didn't get any more.

I've been feeling Patrick move for several weeks, and Kevin is able to feel the big moves as well. But last night I could actually SEE my belly wiggle and jump with his aerobics! Pretty entertaining stuff. It's been so fun to share the news we are having a boy, talk about his name and newly painted room, and all the other baby stuff.

And speaking of boys....
Emily and Tony welcomed Carson Logan (love the name!) into their family on Tuesday. This one looks like momma, according to the family. She delivered hours before her scheduled induction, showing excellent timing on her part. Congrats!
