Yeah, so we bought a new car yesterday.
It was rather serendipitous (real word?). We shopped around for a car loan in the morning, found a pleasing rate, had everybody tell us was wonderful credit we had (yeah!), and checked out B&B Auto based on a recommendation from the manager at Wells Fargo. Kevin had a list of used cars from the internet, but we thought, why not? It was a chance to test drive some of the vehicles we were considering.
Off we drove.
J.K was a very nice, non-stereotypical salesman, super helpful guy who never once tried to show us cars outside the price range we gave him. As we were poking around the lot, Kevin noticed a 2000 silver VW Passat Wagon. The price was considerably less than the first one we'd seen. When asked about the difference, J.K remarked that they'd had it for a bit longer, and the car had a few less fancy features than the other. But the body and interior were in good shape for a used vehicle. This one also had some more miles on it, but still in our acceptable realm.
We drove it.
We liked it!
We LOVED the price.
After polite negotiation, we offered a reasonable price, they counter offered with a slightly higher but still reasonable price, we agreed. Out the door for about $10,500. After putting some money down, our monthly payment is $50 less than what we'd budgeted for. We are so thrilled with the deal we got, a good loan rate, and our lovely new car!
Kevin has leather seats. I have a sunroof. The cup holders are a bit flimsy. The puppy dogs have yet to sit in the back, and my first order of business is to have a dog gate installed so they can't jump over the seats.
Pictures to be posted.

Now you have to change the "about me" section on your blog. You have 1/2 of the 2 kids part, and you got the station wagon! :)
YEAH! What awesome news! Welcome to my VW wagon mommy-mobile club!
Congratulations, sweetie!
