What I like about being pregnant

So far, I've loved being pregnant. Not just because we tried for so hard and so long to have a baby, and I'm simply grateful that it's happening at all. Because I am all those things.

I just find the whole process of my changing body very entertaining.

1. Great hair: Hair grows faster and gets thicker in pregnancy. Sure, it might fall out and look horrid later, but that's later, when I'm sleep deprived and don't give a shit. Right now, it's fab.

2. The boobs: I have the boobs I've always wanted and deserved. Bigger, fuller, perkier. They are awesome and if it wasn't freezing I'd be showing the cleavage off daily. I got to buy new pretty bras to fit them. These, like great hair, won't last either. Sniff.

3. New clothes: It's a great excuse, this growing belly. My goal is to hunt down the consignment shops in Seattle where rich people take their old clothes, and shop there.

4. The belly: I love this belly. I love that it's getting bigger and looking more pregnant. I love rubbing it and having friends want to touch it. So far no strangers have wanted to touch it, but depending on how normal they look, I might not mind. I love looking like I'm having a baby.

5. Sweet husband: Kevin was always a doll. But now that The Belly has arrived, he's quick to carry the heavy groceries.

6. The attention: I admit it, I lurve the attention. Especially since once Parakeet arrives, I won't get any ever again. But I love the questions about how I'm doing, how will we decorate the baby's room, what names do we like, all of it.

So next time you see me, go ahead and touch my belly!

When I was pregnant with Austin, I was working at the store, and for some dumb reason everyone and their brother thought they had the right to rub my belly. Complete strangers!

One day, this heavier set guy that I work with decided that it was his turn. I was in a rather foul mood that day, and when he was done rubbing my belly, I patted his stomach.

No one, and I mean NO ONE that I worked with did that again!
