10. Skinny Dip by Carl Hiaasen (library) new read, new author:
This book was hysterical. Man tries to kill wife by throwing her off cruise ship on second anniversary. She survives and is rescued, but instead of going to the cops (where it would be her word versus his) she decides to fuck with him instead. Brilliant set up, witty dialogue, and a few outrageous characters. It's a rare book that appeals to both women and men, and Skinny Dip succeeds. I can't wait to check out some of his other books. His young adult book, Hoot, is in the works for a movie deal, produced by Jimmy Buffett! And he's a hottie, for an old guy.
I'm so tired, one more shift at work, then two days off. I keep telling myself it's worth it for the overtime, and when I get the check I say, "Oh, that wasn't so bad." But tonight, tomorrow, it sucks donkey. So I'll treat myself with pure luxury on the way to work. A green tea frappacino from Starbucks. Yee Haw.
And I just want to thank my husband....the house looked really nice when I came home. Thanks for the present. It was just what I wanted.
