I found this website, Music Outfitters, that has Top 100 hit lists from the last 4 decades. So I decided to check out what was popular 27 years ago. What were the folks listening to my first year? Perhaps more telling would be 1976...the year my parents had sex One Time.
I haven't included every song, just the ones I like. And I've always had fairly dorky taste in music. I love old, cheesy stuff. John Denver, Neil Diamond, ABBA, Barry Manilow. Love it. And the colored songs are my very favorites. Notice I cut all the Andy Gibb off my list.

But my favorite song OF ALL TIME is not on this list. It's Please Come To Boston by Dave Loggins. Think it's from 1976. I have an old mix tape with this song, and my greatest wish is to find it on CD. This song trumps all other songs; favorite Jimmy Buffett songs (Come Monday and Fair You Well), favorite boogie-down songs (LoveShack and Shook Me All Night Long), favorite "I'm Not That Into You" song (Crush by Jennifer Page), favorite "I'm very into you" song (Desire by U2), favorite song with my husband (And We Danced by Brad Paisley). Now I wish I had an excuse to get an iPod, if only to make song lists. Maybe I can bargain the next time Kevin NEEDS a new cell phone.
