But you aren't always that interesting, I must say. Babies are not always fascinating. Cute. But not necessarily interesting. Mommy has gotten over feeling guilty for wanting to browse the internet while you breastfeed. Or listening to my ipod while bouncing you on the exercise ball. This must be a woman thing. Daddy certainly doesn't stress over watching Starship Troopers while comforting you.
We've had lots of time to show you off, and it's wonderful. You attended a Tacoma Little Theatre party on Saturday. Despite the heat, you did pretty good. Mommy is still working on feeding you in public. Not that I worry about people watching, but I don't want to nipple flash anybody. But feeding you with a blanket over your head is a hassle. We are both learning, I guess.
Daddy gets lots of one-on-one time with you. He's almost better at comforting you that me, because I just feed you. If you don't want to eat, I'm not sure what to do next. Daddy is learning all the tricks. But you keep changing your mind on what you like best. You are your Mommy's boy, you particular little thing.
But you do like it when we sing to you. Mommy knows bits and pieces to lots of songs, and sometimes we just make up lyrics. But you are getting lots of Jimmy Buffett. Is it appropriate to sing "Why Don't We Get Drunk?" to a baby? In time we'll be at the mercy of your musical tastes. For now, we get to call the shots.
Everybody just loves you. All your grandparents, aunts and uncles, and even the puppies. I can't wait for you to start smiling. We get glimpses, now and then. But I don't know if it truly has anything to do with the silly faces we make at you. Perhaps soon.
Love
Mommy

I think that song choice sound enterily appropriate, Patrick is drinking lots of milk after all.
You don't have to specify what kind of drinking Jimmy is singing about. :) At least for 10 years or so.
Love the pictures. He's so cute.
Happy first month birthday Patrick!
Hey Jenny Girl - thanks for being so diligent about keeping us up to date with Patrick news/pictures. I just want to reach thru the monitor and squeeeeze him. Gently of course.
Love you!

I love these weekly updates about you, Kevin, and Patrick. Keeps those of us who are far far away very informed of how you're all growing and changing.
Matt and I won't be back up North until Christmas. Maybe we'll get some time together and I can finally meet your little man!
And I know that I said I would call and I haven't - I have no excuses. I will call, I promise!
You go girl!
Nice to see real-life parenthood settling happily in ... ;)
(I also had the "what do I do if they don't want to nurse" issue ... and still have to make sure to wear a shirt to bed if the 2-year-old is with us, as otherwise she thinks it's her god-given right to fondle me, and I'm so done with that.)
