I have lots of interesting things I'd like to blog about.

Eating local and organic
Getting rid of HFSC in the kitchen
Jumping off the supermommy train to be a "perfectly good" mommy

But those would require coherent sentence structure and essay format. And I have a six week old. So perhaps later, when Kevin is home for longer than two hours and can do baby care during the grumpy time, 7-9pm.

Instead, bits and pieces...

Patrick is sleeping in longer stretches at night. Five to seven hours! I take no credit for this wonder, as I believe that (for the most part) kids have sleep habits like parents have sleep habits and not much doing will influence a kid to be any different. It's pure and total luck, but I'll take it. He's currently sleeping in a portable swing (big thanks to Jenny A for the hand-me-down). She gave me the perfect advice to run errands during his grumpy time. Sounds a bit counterproductive, but she said that if my biddy wants entertainment, walking around Target and Fred Meyer will do the trick. We tried it last night, an evening trip to Borders. It worked, and he even ate for about 20 minutes next to the cookbooks.

I'm having a bit of a challenge finding something cute to wear to a wedding next weekend that I can breastfeed in. The bride and groom have graciously invited our Patrick (he's the youngest guest they've said), and I don't want to pump and bring bottles. That's too much work. Easier to just feed him normally. Therefore, wardrobe must be taken into account. The one top I thought would work, no good. Too tight with my new boobs. I found a cute shirt at Annette B, a charming boutique in Tacoma. Too expensive. But I did buy a new sling, hope I can figure it out. Still not sure on the size. Again, the boobs are in the way.
