Tired Mommy today.
Yesterday was spent in blissful fun at the Buhre Family Beach House with the PLU conglomerate. The Lawvers, Larsons, Buhres, Schalls, and Myers (minus my husband, at work) spent the day eating, chasing after kids, gossiping, eating some more, drinking wine, and chasing after kids. Other people took pictures, so I was lazy and never got my camera out of the diaper bag. But Lena promised me that I could have copies, right Lena? :) This short paragraph doesn't begin to express how wonderful a time I had, how grateful I am for such a lovely group of people in my life, and how blessed I feel to have such great friends.
We did have an obscene amount of food. I alone brought: 2 bottles of wine, cake with chocolate frosting, blackberry cobbler, oreos, zucchini salad, green bean salad, homemade bread. Luckily, there was lots of leftovers for poor husband to eat.
Kevin, unfortunately, was the one who couldn't be there. We all missed him so much, especially me on Mommy duty by myself. But luckily there were loads of great parents around to help. Patrick is getting too alert to just crash out in the middle of a party. He wants to see what's going on. Therefore, he spent most of the day awake. No long nap meant no long break for the Mommy. He made up for it by sleeping until 5:45am this morning, then napping again until 8am.
I'm constantly discovering the holes in my Mommy brain. Today I went to Target. Supplies were needed that could not be postponed. Patrick is in the stroller. Puppies are hanging out in the car thanks to cool weather. Screaming Patrick gets his diaper changed in the stroller by the towels. I discover the lack of wallet in my bag. Problem one, can't pay for breast pads. Problem two, where the hell is it? Pile everybody back in the car. Wallet is at home. Back to Target. This is much slower with Patrick to transport in and out of the car.
But I'm getting a needed baby break. Patrick is watching The Devil Wears Prada with Kevin.

Isn't mama brain fun? I'd like to say it ends soon, but I had three to fry my brain ... it's slowly coming back ...
And Kevin's watching WHAT!??! He he ... Hey, _I_ want to see that movie! Our girly men ... sigh. ;)
Next time we are planning a menu! And who brings what. Pictures will come shortly. :)
I still say your dessert was a clafouti rather than a cobbler. Cobbler has fruit with dough biscuits on top, clafouti has fruit in batter.
Love foodie debates! Can't go wrong eating any of it.
See what I do with my baby gone and all this time on my hands. Ponder clafouti. When my kids leave home I'm going to gain a hundred pounds. Or open a bakery.
