Nine weeks

Dear Patrick: You are nine weeks old (and two months)!

This whole smiling thing has made you so much more appealing. Mommy just can't get enough of your goofy grins. You are very smiley in the morning (nothing like getting a good clean diaper), or after a particularly good feeding. You smile at me when I blow in your face, make smoochy noises, or roll my R's at you. You still fuss and grump at times, but overall your temperament is trending towards the laid-back side.

You definitely get THAT from your Daddy.

I feel like I'm starting to get a good handle on this parenting this, so far. It's kind of interesting as you show us more bits of your personality. You continue to sleep well, and this gives Daddy and me some good "alone" time while you snooze in the swing. Who knows how long this will last, but I'll be grateful while it's here. And I continue to take no credit for your sleeping habits. They are a gift from God, not the end result of following some book's prescription to parental success.

Getting in and out of the carseat is still rather traumatic. I try to tell you that you're just going to fall asleep in five minutes, just as we pull up to our destination, but you grump away despite my reassurances.

I can't believe I have to go back to work in less than a month. It's been so fun being at home with you. But that means Daddy will get to have you for a whole entire day. All to himself. With no Mommy. By himself.

Hee Hee

I love you my little boy.

Love
Mommy
